ATTENTION RMHA MEMBERS
The RMHA Board approved the following Nominees for the 2025 RMHA Board of Elections.
Secretary (1 to be elected) – Tiffany Leary
Treasurer (1 to be elected) – Laura Tuttle
Hearing Panel (1 to be elected) – Jessica Shannon, Mark Smith
DOE (1 to be elected) – Nathan Smith, Darin Woods
Member at Large (4 open spots) -Marcia Coy, Makayla Hill, Kathy House, Randy Inman, Barbara Rector, and Sheryl Youens
Other qualified members (see BYLAWS for membership requirements) may be added to the ballot for Secretary, Treasurer, Hearing Panel or DOE by a petition of the membership as outlined in Section 4, Subsection 4.4.2 of the Rules.
4.4.2 Running By Petition After publication of the list of nominated candidates, a thirty (30) day period exists in which names may be added to the ballot by a petition of the membership. Any such petition must contain the valid signatures of 10% of the members of the Association eligible to vote as of December 31st of the year prior to the election. Petitions must be presented to the office of the Rocky Mountain Horse Association by March 1 of the current election year. Petitions must be signed by the candidates, and can be sent to the RMHA Office via fax, email, or a “docu-sign” type service. The Office Manager will verify such candidates meet the required criteria.
Valid petitions must meet all criteria as stated in the rules. Signatures in ink or faxed/emailed (to the candidate) will be accepted, when qualifications of each signer is verified by the office. Petitions must be presented (by email, mail or in person) to the RMHA Office by March 1, 2025 with all required signatures included. For purposes of determining number of signatures needed, please note one would need signatures from 10% of the active member total as of December 31, 2024, which was 1,749.
Nominations for the position of Member at Large may be made by the membership as outlined in Section 4 , Subsection 4.4.3 of the rules. A letter addressed to the Secretary must be received in the RMHA Office (by email, mail or in person) by March 1, 2025.
4.4.3 Nominations of MAL candidates by Membership Nominations for the position of Member at Large on the Board may be made by the membership, as outlined in Article 2, Paragraph 2.11.B of the Bylaws (amended June 2011). A letter addressed to the RMHA Secretary at the principal office of the Association listing the member to be nominated, his/her consent to be nominated, and the signatures of the two supporting members must be received by March 1 of the election year. The Office Manager shall verify that the candidates meet the required criteria.
To be placed on the ballot, all candidates must meet all requirements as stated in our BYLAWS and RULES, as confirmed by the Board.
